IGB - the Host of the Centennial Congress of the International Society of Limnology

The Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) of the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. has the privilege to host – the Centennial Congress of the International Society of Limnology (SIL) – in Berlin Germany.

The IGB is a creative, lively and diverse place for conducting research and teaching. At our sites in Berlin and Neuglobsow, scientists from all over the world and from a whole range of disciplines work together. Hydrologists, biogeochemists, physicists, microbiologists, ecologists, evolutionary ecologists, fish ecologists and fisheries biologists investigate the fundamental processes in rivers, lakes and wetlands. In the process, they think beyond individual disciplines and spatial boundaries.

Take the chance to visit the IGB while you are here in Berlin. There will be excursions on Thursday, 11 August 2022 where you can visit the institute or go on a canoe trip on the River Spree. Learn about our facilities and about our research interests.

Visit the IGB homepage at: www.igb-berlin.de. There you find information on the history of the institute, the names of the staff along with their research disciplines and project descriptions.
